About Us


The primary aim of the group is to promote cooperation between the practice and its patients to mutual benefit.

Terms of Reference

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) will:

  1. contribute to practice decision-making and will take part in two-way discussions on service development and delivery;
  2. provide feedback on patients’ needs, concerns and interests and challenge the practice constructively whenever necessary;
  3. provide a two-way communication channel enabling grumbles and complaints about the practice to be represented whilst at the same time helping patients to understand the practice view;
  4. act as a conduit between the practice and the community over public concerns affecting healthcare;
  5. give patients a voice in the organisation of their care;
  6. promote good health and higher levels of health literacy by encouraging and supporting activities within the practice and promoting preventative medicine;
  7. liaise on the provision of secondary healthcare and social care locally;
  8. contribute to the practice view on consultations emanating from NHS trusts;
  9. collaborate with other PPGs in the area.
